Within Cleveland Police ACC Sean White has responsibility for leading the delivery of all operational policing services across Cleveland in conjunction with the four territorial districts and partnerships of Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool and Redcar & Cleveland.

Sean was appointed to a chief officer post within Cleveland Police in June 2008 having graduated from the 2007/08 Strategic Command Course (SCC). 

Between 2001 and 2008 Sean served with Humberside Police and held responsibilities including the command of all policing operations in the City of Hull (2004-2007), Head of Corporate Development (2004) and Superintendent Operations with responsibility for policing in North-East Lincolnshire (2001-2004).

During the period 1999 to 2001 Sean served with Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) and was involved in the inspection of 21 police forces across England and Wales.  Sean led the development of Basic Command Unit (BCU) inspections, general police force inspections and more specialist work such as Best Value and thematic studies into areas of more specialist police work.

Between 1984 and 1999 Sean served with West Yorkshire Police and served in a number of operational roles in the City of Leeds supplemented with time spent at the Force Headquarters supporting members of the Force Chief Officer Team as a staff officer.

Sean holds two degrees; an honours degree in ‘Organizational Management’ from Bradford University (1996) and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) qualification awarded by Leeds University Business School (LUBS) in 2001.  In 2008 Sean was awarded the ‘Certificate in Company Directorship’ by the Institute of Directors (IoD).

Sean is 43 and father of two children who have a wide range of hobbies and other interests that he supports!  Additionally, when time allows Sean enjoys offshore sailing, inland boating, motorcycling, walking and keeping up to date with current affairs.  Sean lives on Teesside having relocated during the latter part of 2008.
