Derek Bonnard
Derek Bonnard was born and raised within the Cleveland area. He attended University College, London where he obtained a BSc(Hons) in Economics. After leaving University in 1985 he commenced work in the city for Touche Ross & Co (Accountants) as a Tax Specialist before transferring to the Leeds Office of the same company in 1986.
In 1987 he joined West Yorkshire Police and has served in a variety of uniformed posts both in Leeds and Bradford in all ranks up to Chief Superintendent. He served as a BCU Commander in Bradford and commanded the West Yorkshire Police Operational Support Division with responsibility for major events and specialist services across the Force.
In February 2004 he was promoted to the position of Assistant Chief Constable (Territorial Operations) within Cleveland Police and has recently been promoted to Deputy Chief Constable. He has responsibility for People and Diversity, Professional Standards, Corporate Planning and Performance, Information & Communications Technology (ICT), Volunteers and Specials.
Derek Bonnard lives in the Cleveland area. He has a keen interest in physical fitness, which includes running, cycling, hill walking and climbing.
