Police use of taser guns in 2006 and 2007
Q1.) How many times have officers in your force used tasers in real-life situations (i.e. when they have been used against members of the public)?
A1.) Cleveland has used Taser against people 12 times in 2006, and 11 times in 2007 up to now. The term ‘use’, I have interpreted as fired or used in drive-stun mode. It does not include merely pointing it.
Q2.) Can you please tell me the youngest and oldest person they have been used on?
A2.) Under the above definition of use the youngest person was 16 and the oldest 60.
Q3.) Has your force received any official complaints regarding the use of tasers and, if so, how many?
A3.) No information Held
