Overtime Payments to Officers and staff

I seek a breakdown of the police force’s payments to its officers and staff at “overtime rates”. By “overtime rate” I mean a rate of pay that is higher than base salary owing to hours worked in addition to the regular schedule.

1. Total annual cost of overtime

2007/8 £4,654,282.20 & 2008/9 £4,285,150.16

2. Total budgeted annual cost of overtime

2007/08 = £3,916K & 2008/09 = £3,463K

4. Annual total of overtime pay broken down by officers and staff

2007/8 Police £4,289,010.55 Staff £365,271.65

2008/9 Police £3,948,925.83 Staff £336,224.33

5. Annual total of overtime hours worked for staff

2007/8 39,499.21

2008/9 42,582.09

6. Annual total of overtime pay for officers broken down by officer rank:-

2008/09 = PC’s £3,205,378.82 SGT £733,513.73 INS £10,033.28
