Police Community Support Officers at Cleveland Police 

Police Community Support Officers play an integral part in our effort to deliver the best possible policing service to our communities. They work alongside police officers to help make the local area a safer place to live, work, and visit. They also help us meet the increasing public demand for visible and accessible uniform patrols.

All Police Community Support Officers are employed, managed, and directed by Cleveland Police and form part of the Cleveland policing family.

Becoming a Police Community Support Officer

To become a Police Community Support Officer with Cleveland Police you will go through four key stages:

  • Stage1 – Application Form
  • Stage2 – Assessment Centre
  • Stage3 – Medical examination
  • Stage4 – References and security checks

Police Community Support Officer Pay and Benefits

As a Police Community Support Officer, you will be able to take advantage of a wide range of benefits. Community support officer pay is reviewed annually. Here are the figures for 2010/2011: On commencing service £16,938; On completion of your initial training £18,471.
