Becoming a Police Constable

To become a police constable with Cleveland Police you will go through six key stages:

Stage1:  Application Form
Stage2:  Assessment Centre
Stage3: The Cleveland Interview
Stage4:  Medical examination and fitness test
Stage5:  References and security checks 
Stage6: Police Officer induction training (University of Teesside)

Police Pay and Benefits

As a police constable, you will be able to take advantage of a wide range of benefits. Police pay is reviewed annually. Here are the figures for 2010/2011: On commencing service £23,259; On completion of your initial training (around 12 months) £25,962.
