A woman who was killed in a collision in Hartlepool yesterday has been named as 48-year-old Sally Holbrook.
Police are appealing for information following the fatal road traffic collision that occurred at 5.25pm yesterday, Sunday 23rd December, on the A689 Westbound at its junction with Dalton Back Lane in Claxton.
The collision involved a blue Vauxhall Agila and a black Ford Focus. The driver of the Agila, 48-year-old Sally Holbrook, sadly died at the scene.
The passenger in the Agila, a 52-year old-man from Hartlepool, has been taken to James Cook University Hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.
The driver of the Focus, a 50 year old man from Hartlepool, was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees where he has been detained with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
A passenger who was travelling in the Focus, a 25 year old man from Hartlepool, was uninjured.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision to contact PC William Parker at Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 228873.
