Woman’s Bag Snatched, Stockton

A 49 year old woman on her way home from a night out in Stockton was pulled to the ground during a bag snatch incident on Friday night (21st December).

She was alone on Prince Regent Street just outside The Ark just after 10pm, making her way to a taxi rank on nearby Dovecot Street when a man approached her from behind.

He did not make any threats but grabbed her bag, pulling her to the ground, and ran off with it towards KFC and down the alley behind The Ark.  The bag contained a white LG mobile phone which held family photos on it, as well as cash, bank cards and other personal items.

The suspect is described as white, of slim build and around 5’5” tall.  He is in his early 20s and was wearing a grey or blue hooded top with the hood up, and dark tracksuit bottoms with lines down the legs.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw someone of that description or who witnessed the robbery is asked to contact DC Olly Flight of Stockton CID on the non emergency 101 number.  Alternatively please contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
