Woman Suffers Dog Bite, Guisborough

Police are appealing for information following a woman suffering a bite from a dog in Guisborough in the early hours of Monday morning (18th February).

The 39-year-old woman was at the bottle bank on Northgate sometime between midnight and 1.30am when she was approached by a dog. The woman patted the dog on the head but was then attacked. She suffered leg injuries and was taken to James Cook University Hospital by ambulance where she had to have stitches.

The dog is described as a “fully grown” Bull Mastiff or Bull Mastiff cross. It was cream or sandy coloured with darker speckles to the top of its “flat” head. It did not have a collar and no one was with it.
