Murder Enquiry Update - Middlesbrough

A murder enquiry is continuing in Middlesbrough following the death of a man in his twenties.

Police were called to The Greenway shortly after 11.30pm on Thursday 8th May where the man was found with serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital but sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

A post mortem examination was carried out during the evening of Friday 9th May has revealed the cause of death is likely to be a single stab wound.  

His death is being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing.

Searches are being carried out in the area around The Greenway.

Police are particularly keen to trace anyone in The Greenway around the time of the incident and who may have seen anything.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

A 19 year old man and a 30 year old man arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident are currently being questioned by police.
