Man Assaulted on Laird Road, Hartlepool

The incident happened on Sunday 31st January 2010 at approximately 11.15pm as the man was walking home from a night out.

A car pulled up at the side of the road behind the victim and an unknown man got out and punched the victim in the face and head several times, before getting back in the car and driving off.

The suspect is described as white, in his late 30’s to early 40’s, of stocky build and approximately 5ft 10 to 5ft 11 inches tall. The man had grey hair, was wearing a cream jumper and was driving an original style, dark coloured, Vauxhall Astra.

The victim, who was knocked to the ground during the incident, sustained severe bruising to his cheek and has had to undergo minor surgery at James Cook University Hospital.
