Police appeal for witnesses after girl grabbed behind Park End Public House

Police would like to appeal for witnesses after a man grabbed a 15-year-old girl behind the Park End Public House in Park End, Middlesbrough, yesterday (Monday 8th February.) The incident occurred at around midday on Penistone Road.

The man got out of a white van and grabbed the girl’s arm. When her dog started to bark the man got back into the van and made off.

The suspect is described as around 35-40 years old, of mixed race appearance, with short black hair (greying at the sides), of skinny build, around 5 ft 11” tall, wearing a light blue tracksuit top with white sleeves and white stripes on the front. He was also wearing black leather gloves. The vehicle he was driving was an old, “rusty-looking” van.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen a male acting suspiciously in the area, or may have noticed a male driving a white van in this area around the time is asked to contact PC Michael Fearns of Middlesbrough Police on 01642 303126.
