Police Appeal after Incidents on Cornwall Street in Hartlepool

Police are appealing for information after three men were believed to have been involved in a number of incidents on Cornwall Street in Hartlepool during Saturday 6th February 2010.

At approximately 9.30pm the men forced their way into an address on Cornwall Street and threatened the occupant before stealing a quantity of money and causing damage to items inside the property.

It is believed the same three men then approached a 16 year old on Cornwall Street and assaulted him in an unprovoked attack. The victim, who suffered a cut to his lip and hand, was followed by the men to another property on Cornwall Street where he alerted the occupants to what had happened.

The men subsequently assaulted a 20 year old man at the same address before smashing the living room window of the property. The victim on this occasion suffered cuts to his eye, neck and head.

Both victims received hospital treatment at Hartlepool General Hospital for their injuries.

Following these assaults the men ran off along Cornwall Street in the direction of Stockton Road. It is believed that as they did so they smashed the rear windscreen of a taxi waiting to collect a fare on Cornwall Street.

It is believed the men ran onto Oxford Road before leaving the area in a vehicle. The suspects are described as being aged between 16 and 24 years old and were wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with any information or anyone who may have witnessed any of these incidents is asked to contact DC Gemma Aveyard at Hartlepool Police on 01642 302 178. Alternatively contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
