Operation Tornado - Crime and Justice

Monday 31st January will see the start of Operation Tornado, with the focus this year on Crime and Justice.

The week of activity involves a wide range of police operations, including working with partner agencies, to tackle issues around crime and justice.

The operation will run between Monday 31st January 2011 and Sunday 6th February 2011 with the intention of intensifying activity at a local level to deal directly with policing plan priority areas (2010/11) that include;

Deliver citizen focused, neighbourhood policing to all our communities;
Reduce crime, anti-social behaviour and protect neighbourhoods;
Reduce the harm caused by drugs and alcohol; and
Ensure efficient and effective use of our people and the public’s money.

A wide range of initiatives are planned to address local issues that are of concern. Operation Tornado will see the Force co-ordinating and intensifying its activities to achieve even greater outcomes for local people.
