Heroin haul in Hartlepool

On Wednesday 24th of February 2010 officers from Hartlepool’s police drugs unit and neighbourhood support group carried out a magistrates warrant at an address in Windermere Road, Belle View Hartlepool.

Officers forced entry into the premises and detained a 22 year old female and a 30 year old male. They were both arrested and interviewed at Hartlepool and have been bailed to allow for further enquiries.

A search of the premises and surrounding area recovered a large amount of suspected class A drugs believed to be heroin. The drugs have a potential street value of £6,000. Other items relating to drug dealing were also recovered.

Sergeant John Hemsworth who led the investigation said: “The action was taken as a result of information provided by members of the public from the local community.

“This is a significant seizure of class A drugs and one of the biggest in the area for a considerable time. I am extremely pleased by the outcome of this particular operation and would urge the community to continue to provide excellent information on any drug activity in Hartlepool”.
