Neighbourhood Officers Launch Brew With A Bobby Scheme

A friendly face, a listening ear – and a nice cuppa will be on offer in rural East Cleveland from next week.

Neighbourhood Policing Officers and PCSOs have arranged a series of coffee mornings across the Westworth and Lockwood ward areas and they are inviting residents to come along to their local Community Centre.

There they can meet their local officers and discuss any concerns they have over a free cup of tea or coffee – and a biscuit of course!

The “Brew with a Bobby” scheme is funded by Community Crime Fighters and will be launched in Lingdale Village Hall on Monday (16th November), with other meetings taking place every 4-6 weeks in Boosbeck, Margrove and Charltons over the coming months.

PCSO Paul Payne who covers the Lingdale area said: “We are looking forward to working with Sarah Graham of Community Crime Fighters and reaching out to the more isolated communities in our district.

“The scheme will allow us to introduce ourselves to residents in an informal and relaxed setting.  They can tell us about any concerns they have regarding their area and we can then set our ward priorities.”
