Police thank residents as drugs are seized, Middlesbrough

Two houses were raided in Middlesbrough at the end of last week as Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officers acted on intelligence provided by the community.

On Thursday (8th July) a warrant was executed in Gribdale Road, Pallister Park.  A substantial amount of suspected cannabis resin was found in the house and this led to the arrests of a 25 year old man and a 15 year old boy on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply.  Both have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

The next day (Friday 9th July) officers searched a house in Windleston Drive in Park End where they discovered a large quantity of suspected cannabis bush and equipment used for growing cannabis.  Other substances, believed to be class C drugs were seized.

A  26 year old man and a 26 year old woman were arrested at the house on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and possession of class C drugs with intent to supply.  Both were released on bail pending forensic analysis of the drugs.

Sgt Paul Brodie of the NPT2 team which works from Berwick Hills Police Office said: “I’d like to thank the community for giving us the information which led to these arrests.  If you believe drugs are being grown, sold or bought in your neighbourhood, please continue to provide information and I promise you police WILL act upon it.”
