Cadet Programme Information

Cleveland Police Cadets

Who are we?

Established in 2009 Cleveland Police Cadet programme provides a long term structured, developmental programme that is adventurous, informative and exciting for young people aged between 13 an d17 in each of the four districts of Cleveland, (Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton)

The programme welcomes applications from young people from all communities and backgrounds including those who are vulnerable to social exclusion or involvement in crime.

What do we do?

  • We meet every week from 6.30 til 9.00 in each of the Districts
  • We discuss local and national events in the news, learn about community safety andcrime and how the Police work.
  • We do team sports and activities, from football, hockey and volleyball to taking part in simulated crime scene investigation, and visits to various Police departments.
  • We are all committed community volunteers and get regular opportunities to support Police, Council and other community events – such as being ball boys/girls and supporting a disabled Olympics event, supporting primary school pupils at an event where they were learning about safety, helping out at family fun days, caddying at a charity golf day, helping the Police Authority with public consultations.
  • We are doing our D of E award and are in training for our expeditions, learning about outdoor survival and doing practice walks and camps.
  • We have fun !
