Our Equality Objectives

The strategy will guide our approach to equality, diversity and human rights until 2020. It was created during a three-month consultation period last year. During that time we ran workshops with people from across the organisation, collected views in an online survey and received feedback from more than 20 community groups. The strategy has three key areas: serving our communities; supporting our people and; organisational processes.

  • Hate Crime
  • Community Engagement & Feedback
  • Service Design & Delivery
  • Anti-Social Behaviour & Wider Vulnerability
  • Mental Health
  • Victim & Witness Support
  • Arrest & Detention of suspects

Supporting Our People

Ensuring our working environment is supportive and inclusive of all, enabling officers and staff to develop and flourish. Our equality objectives in this area are:

  • Organisational Leadership & Culture
  • Organisational Learning
  • Workforce Engagement
  • Workforce Knowledge & Expertise
  • Discriminatory Behaviour

Organisational Processes

Building equality into the organisations processes and how the service manages its performance. Our equality objectives in this area are:
