1st April 2013

On 1st April 2013 at around 5:40pm, officers were called to an address in the south Billingham area following reports of criminal damage to a window.

After an initial investigation, it was identified that the person responsible was the home owner’s 14-year-old daughter and that the incident had occurred following some family issues. The parents did not want to take the matter further through the court process but did not want her to go unpunished. The girl admitted the offence and explained that she knew what she had done was wrong. An agreement was made for her to pay for the damage through her allowance and her mobile phone contract was cancelled. The parents said they were extremely happy with the outcome when contacted later by staff.
