On 20 May 2024 at 10.00am at Scotswood House, Thornaby Place, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees TS17 6SB a misconduct hearing under the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2012 will take place in relation to PC 2466 Robert Coffey.

On 23/03/2019, PC Coffey was on duty in a marked police vehicle along with a female colleague, who was under his tutelage. Having been informed of an on-going domestic incident involving Mr B and Miss A, PC Coffey:

The hearing will be in public. The Legally Qualified Chair (LQC) will be Mr Gerry Sydenham. Any representations, including by any news or media organisation, regarding the imposition of reporting restrictions (or other conditions on the hearing) should be made in writing to the LQC c/o DCI 1639 John Bonner, Cleveland Police, Directorate of Standards and Ethics, Avenue Road, Hartlepool TS24 8AJ by 4pm on 15th May 2024.
If members of the press or public wish to observe the hearing, they are required to pre-register, leaving their details including contact telephone number and email address. Anyone who has not pre-registered will not be allowed to attend the hearing.
