Two Men Arrested in Connection With Eglington Road Incident

During the morning of Sunday 20th July, police carried out a pre-planned operation in the Grangetown area and arrested two local men aged 19.

Both have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

It relates to an incident in Eglington Road on Friday 18th July at around 4.30pm in which two shots were fired at a door.

A number of addresses in the Grangetown and Eston areas have been searched in connection with the investigation and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Matt Murphy-King who is leading the investigation said: “We are still keen to speak to any witnesses to the incident on Friday afternoon, and anyone with information should contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

“Reassurance patrols will continue in the area and I would urge anyone who has concerns to speak to a uniformed officer.”
