45-Year-Old Man Assaulted on Broadwell Road in Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after a 45-year-old man was assaulted on Broadwell Road in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred on Thursday 27th July at 2am when the victim was helping a man whom he thought needed his assistance and he called a taxi for him.

When the taxi arrived, the man turned and punched the victim in the face which resulted in him being treated at James Cook University Hospital with a broken jaw.

Following the assault, the male suspect got into the taxi which was believed to be heading to Billingham. The taxi is described as being a red Skoda Octavia and officers would like the driver of this vehicle to come forward as they may be able to assist with enquiries.

The suspect is descibed as being a white man with a slight tan, of medium build, around 5 ft 5” tall with short dark hair. He was wearing an Adidas tracksuit top and bottoms which were dark coloured.
