Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision that occurred on Raby Road, near to the junction of Hart Lane at around 21:35pm yesterday, Thursday 26th December.
A red Mercedes CLA and a pedestrian were involved in the collision.
The 54-year-old pedestrian remains in James Cook University Hospital receiving treatment for head and internal injuries. He is described as in a critical but stable condition.
The 28-year-old driver of the Mercedes was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He has since been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the event, has dash came footage or nearby private CCTV to contact PC Neil Armstrong on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the event number 218581.
