Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Assault in Thornaby

Police are appealing for witnesses following a report of an assault in Thornaby.
The incident occurred at around 7:50pm on Saturday 9th November on the footpath on Langley Avenue, near to Imperial Avenue.
A 19-year-old woman and the male driver of a silver/grey people carrier had a verbal altercation, before the man got out of the vehicle and assaulted the woman by hitting her head on the floor. The woman sustained minor injuries as a result.
The suspect is described as a white male with a pale complexion, dark hair, broad build and around six feet tall. He had a local accent and was around 30 years old. He is described as wearing a dark grey top and dark bottoms.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact PC Daniel Smythe on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the event number 193128.
