The incident occurred at around 10pm on Friday 11th October on the public footpath at the rear of Wheatlands Primary School on Hundale Crescent.
As a result of the incident, a 16-year-old boy suffered facial injuries. He received treatment at James Cook University Hopsital and has since been released.
Three males aged 16, 17 and 18 have today been arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in custody whilst enquiries are ongoing.
