Police are appealing for information after officers were called to a report of a black Vauxhall Astra and a white Ford transit van being on fire on George Stephenson Boulevard in Hardwick, Stockton.
The incident occurred at around 10.50pm yesterday, Sunday 12th January and officers are treating the incident as suspected arson.
It is believed four people dressed in dark clothing were seen in the area at the time of the incident and they left in the direction of Piper Knowle Road prior to police arrival.
Police are appealing for these people to come forward as they may be able to assist with enquiries.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Anyone who may have witnessed anything or has private CCTV footage of the area of the incident is asked to call Cleveland Police’s Stockton CID Team on 101, quoting event number 006563.
