Police are appealing for information after a man, 29, was victim to an attempted robbery close to the junction of Peel Street and Thornaby Road in Thornaby on Sunday 31st May.
The incident occurred between 6:25pm and 6:45pm when the victim was approached by three males who pushed him over and asked him to hand over his mobile phone.
When the victim refused, the males kicked and punched the victim and smashed his phone and then made off from the scene.
The victim was treated in hospital for minor injuries and later released.
One of the males responsible is described as being a white male, 5 ft 10” – 6 ft tall, of stocky build with shaven brown hair and blonde stubble. It is believed he is in his 20s and was wearing black trousers with no top.
A second male is described as being a white male, around 5 ft 8” tall and around 20 years old.
The third male is described as being another white male and around 5 ft tall, of skinny build with blonde hair which is short in length. This male is believed to be aged 14-15 and he was riding a bike.
Anyone with information regarding the incident, the males responsible or anyone with dash cam footage is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 088089.
