Police were called to a report of a suspected stolen vehicle on Maldon Road in Middlesbrough last night, Tuesday 30th June.
On police arrival, no vehicle was located but a suspicious rider of a moped caught the attention of officers.
The rider reportedly made off on foot into a nearby wooded area and shortly after, police dog Elsa located the male aged 18.
He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class b drug and driving offences and currently remains in custody.
Suspected drugs and hundreds of pounds were also recovered from the male.
