During the early hours of this morning police were alerted to an attempted break in at a jewellery shop on the High Street in Redcar.
Officers from Response and the Dog Unit attended and two men reportedly made way from the scene.
Police Dog Harley soon caught up with the men and they were both detained by officers.
The men aged 40 and 52 were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal and currently remain in custody.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 035917.
