Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery on a man aged in his forties in Middlesbrough.
The incident happened on Northern Road around 6:25pm on Wednesday 21st December.
A group of around seven males, described as being aged 16-18 years old, were sat on a wall when one male approached the victim and grabbed him by his coat, asking for money.
The victim was then punched in the face by the male, leaving him with facial injuries.
The suspect then made off towards Lydbrook Road and the rest of the group threw a glass bottle towards the victim before also making off in the same direction.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have further information, is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101 quoting incident number 229023.
