A man has been sentenced after being convicted earlier this year of historic offences including sexual communication with a child and possession of indecent images.
Eric Holding, aged 86, was sentenced at Teesside Crown Court to imprisonment for 16 months for sexual communication and 13 months for indecent images – to run concurrently. He was also handed a life-long Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Detective Constable Mick Barnes, Investigating Officer, said: “I am satisfied with the sentence handed to Eric Holding, who committed these offences historically and has now been dealt with for his crimes. I would like to thank those who came forward and courageously took part in the judicial process, leading to Holding being brought to justice.
“Anyone who has been a victim of a crime such as this can come forward and speak with police. Victims will be fully supported, and a thorough investigation will be carried out.”
