Police are appealing for witnesses after a 53-year-old man was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery in New Marske.
The man was walking down Dale Street, New Marske, at 5.45pm on Tuesday 20 December when he was approached from behind by two other men.
It was reported that the two men pushed the victim in the back and threatened him with a 6-inch knife during the attempted robbery.
As a car approached, the suspects fled the scene empty-handed and ran down a nearby road.
Thankfully, the victim did not sustain any injuries.
The suspects, who both wore face coverings, have been described as between 25 to 29 years-old and about 5'10" to 6' tall.
The man with the knife was wearing a black hoody with the hood pulled up while the second man was wearing a dark blue padded-style jacket with a fur-trimmed hood.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have CCTV footage, is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101 quoting incident number 228451.
