Seven people Have been arrested following violent disorder in the Hemlington area of Middlesbrough in the early hours of today (Sunday 26 November 2023).
At around 2.40am, officers responded to fire in the Earls Court Road area. Upon arrival, a police vehicle was damaged, and several officers were injured.
One officer suffered a serious hand injury and facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm. Three other men and two women have also been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Fire service and ambulance service also attended the scene.
Uniformed officers are conducting reassurance patrols in the area today, and anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to speak to the officers or pass information to the Control Room by dialling 101.
