Officers recovered this off-road bike in the Saltwells Road area of Middlesbrough yesterday, Sunday 9 April, after reports of a group riding in the town centre area causing antisocial behaviour and distress to members of the public.
Police searching the area came across a male who made off on foot, but his bike was recovered by officers.
As the weather improves over the coming months and reports of the use of illegal off-road bikes potentially increase, officers are encouraging members of the public to share information, submit footage and images as part of their intelligence gathering process, so that police can look to seize the vehicles and take appropriate action.
We are continuing to carry out operations to tackle off-road and nuisance bikers under Operation Endurance and to seize these vehicles when they are used on roads or land illegally. Often the community have images and footage which could help us with our intelligence picture and allow us to take action that can stop those who are causing misery amongst our communities.
Anyone with information regarding those involved, or the location of where the bikes are being stored, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting incident number 066759 or go to Crimestoppers online at
www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
Video footage and images can be shared via the COPA app.
