A man is in police custody after an attempt was made to steal a Range Rover in Eston.
The incident was reported around 4:30am this morning on Granwood Road, before males made off in a Volkswagen Passat.
The Passat was later pursued by officers from Cleveland Police Special Operations Unit (CPSOU) and a male was detained after he made off on foot.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, attempted theft of a motor vehicle and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He remains in police custody at this time.
