Police are appealing for information after two delivery drivers were threatened with a machete in an attempted robbery as they delivered food in Thornaby.
At some time between 8pm and 8.45pm on the evening of Friday 21st July, the pair parked up on Vulcan Way in Thornaby to deliver a food order. When they got out of the car, they were approached by two men who circled the vehicle and looked inside.
They demanded the car keys and one of the males brandished a machete which he pulled from his waistband.
One of the delivery drivers managed to flee from the would-be robbers, whilst the other then told the suspects that the driver who fled had the car keys.
The suspects then became flustered, and the second victim took the opportunity to flee.
The suspects then took the food dropped by the delivery drivers and made off.
