Officers were called to a report of a vehicle stolen by two men in Blackbush Walk, Thornaby, around 7:10pm yesterday evening (Tuesday 8th August).
A Mercedes was stolen in the incident.
The victim, a male in his forties, was approached by two males in possession of bladed weapons and suffered a minor arm injury in the incident.
The vehicle was later located and recovered in Thornaby.
Any witnesses or anyone with information or footage is asked to contact Stockton CID on 101, quoting incident number 157168.
