It happened on Sunday evening, 27th August, at approximately 6pm at the junction of Overdale Road and Crossfell Road as the victim was walking to the local shops.
He was approached by a group of young men, one of whom asked him to hand over his phone. The suspect then took the phone along with the victim’s On running Cloudswift trainers which are black and grey with white soles.
The men then walked away into a housing estate.
The suspects are described as being in their 20s, in black clothing and wearing snoods and balaclavas. One was on a dark grey electric bike.
