A man has been charged with driving whilst under the influence of alcohol after a report of a vehicle almost hitting a fence and the driver then slumped at the wheel.
The reported incident happened around 5:45pm on Wednesday 16th August at South Gare.
Officers arrived and located the Vauxhall Astra as the driver reportedly began driving away from the scene.
Police breathalysed the male driver and a 52-year-old man was arrested and later charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Thursday 31st August.
