Detectives investigating a number of Christmas Eve reports of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Redcar are appealing for information and footage.
The incidents happened on the Ings Estate and the Wheatlands Park Estate on Sunday 24th December, however, the incidents on the two estates are not believed to be linked at this time.
Officers received reports of two burglaries in Wheatlands Park – one around 1pm where Rolex watches, a Pandora bracelet, a navy blue Gucci jacket with a red lining and perfumes and aftershaves were stolen. In the second burglary a number of power tools and two electric bikes were stolen.
Detectives believe there may have been three male suspects and are asking people to check any CCTV which they have which may have.
There were also reports of attempted burglaries on the Ings Estate between 1am and 3am on Christmas Eve, where front door handles were reported to have been tried to gain access to properties on Hundale Crescent, Trocross Way, Seaford Close and Alnmouth Drive. Thankfully these properties could not be accessed. Officers believe the suspect was male, of slim build and wearing a puffer jacket and winter hat.
Anyone who may have information or footage which could assist these investigations is asked to contact Redcar and Cleveland CID on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 252605.
