Detectives are investigating an incident in Eston whereby a property was set alight before a vehicle made off from the scene.
The incident happened on Wordsworth Road in Eston around 9:20pm on Wednesday 27th December.
A bright orange/yellow Ford Focus ST is reported to have been parked in the street for a couple of minutes before two people exited and approached an address, where they smashed a ground floor window and caused the property to be set alight, before making off in the Ford Focus.
A resident who was inside managed to extinguish the fire before emergency services arrived at the scene.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
Anyone who may have information, CCTV or dash cam footage of the vehicle or the incident is asked to contact Redcar and Cleveland CID on 101, quoting incident number 252822.
