Redcar town centre residents will be pleased to hear that there were NO reports of theft from cars in November!
And across the town’s nine wards (which include Marske and New Marske) there were just three reports that month.
This is the lowest figure for the area since April 2021, a Covid lockdown period when all categories of crime showed low figures.
Redcar & East Cleveland Neighbourhoods Inspector Neil Deluce said: “This comes straight after the wider East Cleveland area had just 3 thefts from vehicles reported in October.
“It’s been a case of targeting the right people and either getting them stringent bail conditions or curfews, or successfully charging them to court where some received jail terms.
“I’d like to thank all those residents who gave us community intelligence, passed us CCTV and gave statements to make these results possible.
“And to every single officer who played their part in achieving this excellent result whether from gathering intelligence, making arrests or carrying out curfew checks – your efforts have not gone un-noticed; thank you.”
