Police received a number of reports on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th December in relation to a BB-type gun believed to have been fired at members of the public.
The incidents happened on Bowesfield Lane in Parkfield Stockton, as parents walked their children to the local primary school on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Some children were left in pain with reddening to their skin after being hit by some kind of bullet.
Officers have now arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and assault. He was taken to police custody where he will be questioned by officers.
Additional patrols will be in the Bowesfield Lane area of Stockton at school drop off time in the morning, and again at home time.
Anyone who has been victim to these incidents is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting reference number SE23243286 to ensure that we have your report.
