Man charged with murder as detectives link Middlesbrough incidents.

Detectives investigating an alleged incident in Laycock Street, Middlesbrough on Friday afternoon (15th December) are now linking this with the sad discovery of a woman’s body in an address on Grimwood Avenue (also Middlesbrough) that day.
The lady has now been formally identified as 50-year-old Glenna Siviter.
Her family is being supported by specially trained officers and they have asked for privacy as they try to come to terms with her death.
Our thoughts remain with Glenna’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in relation to the reported incident in Laycock Street.
He was further arrested on suspicion of Glenna’s murder and has this evening been charged with both offences. He has been remanded to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Tuesday 19th December.
A 45-year-old man was also arrested in connection with Glenna’s death, and he has been interviewed and bailed pending further enquiries.
Local people will continue to see an increased police presence in and around both locations and we would ask anyone with information, doorbell, dashcam or private CCTV who has not yet spoken with police to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team on the 101 number.
