A 70-year-old man has sadly passed away following a medical episode which led to a four-vehicle collision on the A66 Hartington slip lane, yesterday morning (Wednesday 6th December).
The road was closed for several hours following the collision at 8:40am, whilst medical teams worked to try to save the man’s life.
The 44-year-old man travelling with the 70-year-old man in the white Mercedes Sprinter van, suffered a sprained ankle. Both men were from outside of the Teesside area.
The driver of a blue Toyota Corolla taxi, a 22-year-old man, and his passenger, a 55-year-old woman, both sustained minor injuries.
The driver of a white Peugeot 208, an 18-year-old woman, and a 25-year-old woman driving a black Audi A1 also suffered minor injuries.
