A jury at Teesside Crown Court has this week found a 53-year-old man guilty of eight offences including sexual activity with a child, voyeurism, sexual assault and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, following an investigation into allegations of historical child sexual abuse.
The investigation by Cleveland Police’s CAVA Team (Child Abuse and Vulnerable Adults) focused on two victims who are now adult women, after the initial report was made by a concerned third party in the summer of 2020.
The survivors are being supported throughout the investigative and judicial process and the man will be sentenced in March 2024.
Cleveland Police’s specialist officers will always investigate all allegations of abuse of any nature, whether recent or non-recent.
You can report in confidence to Cleveland Police day or night via the 101 number or online via our website.
