Reassurance patrols are continuing in the Hemlington area following a report of serious violent disorder last Sunday (26 November).
Police and partners from Middlesbrough Council are continuing to provide a high visibility presence in the area.
One officer suffered a serious hand injury requiring surgery and facial injuries.
Two men aged 36 and 25 have since appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court; a 36-year-old man charged with section 18 wounding with intent to resist/prevent arrest and affray and a 25-year-old man charged with section 18 assault and affray.
Five others arrested in connection with the incident remain on police bail.
Chief Inspector Nigel Burnell from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We understand that residents in Hemlington and the wider local community may be concerned following recent activity in the area, however, I want to reassure people that we have been proactively patrolling and ensuring that we have a highly visible presence.
“This will continue over the coming days and weeks as we continue with our enquiries and encourage anyone with concerns to approach our officers or speak to Cleveland Police by calling us on 101.”
