Ten vehicles were seized during an operation aimed at uninsured drivers on Tuesday 5th December.
Officers from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Team, Council Enforcement Officers from Middlesbrough Council and DVLA colleagues carried out the joint operation in the Hemlington and Coulby Newham areas.
Those found to be uninsured could:
Acting Chief Inspector Chris Hartshorne, from Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We have taken ten uninsured vehicles from the roads as part of an operation aimed at uninsured drivers. Nationally, someone is hit by an uninsured or hit-and-run driver every twenty minutes.
“Please ensure you’re abiding by the law and insure your vehicle. Partnership working such as this will continue as agencies work together in order to keep the roads as safe as possible.”
