Two males were arrested and suspected drugs recovered after a vehicle allegedly stolen in a burglary was sighted by eagle-eyed officers.
Officers received a report of a burglary on Wednesday morning (18 January) around 6:50am on Southwood in Coulby Newham, whereby an Audi A7 and cash were stolen from an address.
On-duty armed response officers spotted the suspected stolen vehicle whilst on patrol in the Hartburn area of Stockton around 4am this morning, Thursday 19th January, and when they attempted to stop it the driver made off from police and headed towards the Billingham area at speeds of over 100mph.
A short pursuit took place before the vehicle came to a stop on Portrack Lane when it lost a tyre.
Two males aged 16 and 21 were arrested and a machete and suspected drugs were recovered from the vehicle.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drug driving, failing to stop, burglary and theft, possession of class B and C drugs, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and failing to provide a sample for analysis.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft, possession of class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Both males remain in police custody at this time.
Officers are appealing for CCTV or ring doorbell footage of anyone acting suspiciously on Southwood in Coulby Newham around 6:50am on Wednesday 18th December.
